Corona Journal, March 28: Day 13
10.30am Just finished another Italian lesson. 4-year-old (hereafter referred to as M) has done a U-Turn on his opinion of me; today he likes me a lot, and did several drawings ‘just for me’. Apparently I have some people-pleasing issues because a 4-year-old’s approval made me happier than it probably should have, although I was put back in my place later when we were playing builders – or he was, and I was watching – and he got annoyed with my incessant attempts to make him speak Italian, and told me (in English), ‘Annie, please. I need quiet while I work.’
12pm Socially distant walk of the day. This time I persuade my boyfriend to go for a cheery wander through a cemetery.

4pm Have some freelance work to do, editing a script that was sent to me by an author whose book I worked on last year. Usually work at the table but fancy working from bed for a change. Start feeling sleepy. This is why I don’t work from bed. Try to convince myself not to take a nap – I always feel terrible after naps and it will make me sleep really badly tonight.
5pm Sod it.
7.30pm Wake up. Feel terrible. Where am I? What time is it? What year is it? What is time?
7.32pm Smell of roast beef drifts through to my room and I start feeling better almost instantly.
7.45pm Breathtaking, stunning, coma-inducing, iconic roast dinner made by flatmate. Possibly happiest moment during the pandemic so far.

8.30pm Uncle and friend of the blog has sent me two bottles of rum. Amazing scenes. Sit down with flatmate and boyfriend to watch the final Hunger Games film with a rum on the rocks.

11pm Boyfriend and flatmate head to bed, but someone had a two-hour nap earlier and is not tired in the slightest.
12am I am making tiramisu.
