Corona Journal, 30 March: Day 15
9.30am Lesson with M. He’s not in the mood today, so I feel like a total dickhead while I leap around the room telling the story of Little Red Riding Hood in Italian, a red jumper over my head to indicate Red Riding Hood and leopard ears to indicate the wolf (what? They were leftover from an ill-conceived sexy leopard halloween outfit from second year of university. Probably not entirely appropriate for a lesson with a 4-year-old now I come to think of it, but they were the only thing I had). M watched me, totally nonplussed, and kept asking if we could do colouring instead.

10.45am I go back to bed.
1pm Reading in bed and something falls onto my face. I bat it away, and a black spec falls onto the bed. I pick it up and inspect it – it’s a flea. An actual flea. Oh my God oh my God oh my GOD.
4pm I spend the next 3 hours washing the bedding and manically shoving furniture around, hoovering every centimetre of the living room, kitchen, hall and bedroom in a kind of frenzy.
7pm Meant to go out for a walk hours ago but got distracted on Pinterest looking at Princess Diana’s most iconic outfits. Really wish I were joking.
7.10pm Hm. Must have really gone for it with the cleaning earlier, because it’s the first time I’ve left the house today and my Fitbit tells me I’ve already walked almost 2 miles just round the flat.
8.30pm Plod back from Waitrose. I’m really more of an Aldi gal, but I was in need of the walk today – and I’m so glad I made the trip. The reduced items in Waitrose were OUT OF THIS WORLD. I got 2 tandoori naans for 33p, quail’s eggs (!?) for 69p, a beetroot, feta and walnut salad for 45p, carbonara sauce for 38p, a charred corn, black bean and piquillo pepper dip for 49p, 4 St. Clement’s hot cross buns for 19p, tenderstem broccoli and green beans for 59p, and an entire Gail’s sourdough loaf for 79p. This is the most exciting thing that has happened to me in 2 weeks.
